1. About this policy
PLATEMINT is a product operated by Taehan Lee, ABN 62 506 975 615, in Western Australia.
This policy applies to personal information handled through the PLATEMINT website, access applications, accounts, onboarding, customer support and the PLATEMINT service. It explains the main kinds of information we handle, why we use it, when it may be shared and how you can contact us about it.
In this policy, “PLATEMINT”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the current operator. “You” refers to a website visitor, applicant, account holder, authorised team member or other person who interacts with PLATEMINT.
2. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with PLATEMINT. It may include:
- Contact and application details, such as your name, email address, role, access preferences and answers provided when you apply for Starter or Founding Access.
- Business and venue information, such as your business type, venue details, kitchen requirements, team size and operational needs.
- Account and authentication information, such as account identifiers, login and account status information, permissions and authorised-user details.
- Recipes and operational content submitted by users, including recipes, ingredients, costing information, preparation records, workflow content, print settings and related venue data.
- Subscription, payment-reference and PLATEMINT Credit information, including plan status, billing records, payment references, PLATEMINT Credit allocations and use of PLATEMINT Credits.
- Device and service-usage information needed to provide the service, maintain security, apply plan limits and understand service performance.
- Support communications, such as messages, feedback, onboarding correspondence and information provided when you request help.
- Limited website attribution and technical information, such as referral source, campaign details, browser-session information, access-button interactions and ordinary website request information.
We collect information directly from you, from authorised users acting for your business, through your use of the service and from service providers supporting our operations.
We aim to collect only information that is reasonably relevant to the access process, the service you use, our relationship with your business or our legal and operational responsibilities. If you choose not to provide information that is needed for an application, account or feature, we may be unable to assess the request or provide that part of PLATEMINT.
We do not receive or store complete payment-card details when payment is handled by our payment provider.
3. How we use information
We use personal information where reasonably necessary to:
- assess applications and communicate with applicants about access and onboarding;
- create, authenticate, administer and secure accounts;
- provide recipes, costing, preparation, operations, print, PLATEMINT Credit and team features;
- process subscriptions, verify payments and administer plan entitlements;
- provide customer support, respond to feedback and send essential service communications;
- maintain, troubleshoot, protect and improve PLATEMINT;
- prevent misuse, investigate security concerns and enforce our Terms of Service; and
- meet legal, financial, accounting and dispute-resolution obligations.
Our website may collect limited technical and attribution information, such as referral source, campaign details, browser-session information and interactions with access buttons. We use this information to understand how people find and use PLATEMINT and to improve the access process.
We do not treat an access application as permission to send unrelated marketing. Where separate permission is required for optional marketing, we will request it appropriately.
4. When information may be shared
We use trusted service providers to support application forms, payments, account authentication, cloud hosting, email delivery, customer support and ordinary business operations.
These providers may process information on our behalf and are required to handle it only for relevant service purposes and in accordance with their applicable obligations.
We may also share information where you direct or authorise us to do so, where reasonably necessary to protect PLATEMINT or another person, in connection with a genuine business transfer, or where disclosure is required or permitted by law. We do not sell personal information.
5. Storage, security and overseas processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information from loss, misuse, interference and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so account holders should also protect their login details and notify support if they suspect unauthorised access.
If we become aware of a privacy or security incident, we will assess it and take reasonable steps to contain and respond to it. We will notify affected people and relevant authorities where notification is required by law.
Some service providers may process or store information outside Australia. The locations may vary depending on the provider and service configuration. Where reasonably practicable, PLATEMINT takes steps to select suitable providers and protect personal information.
6. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide PLATEMINT, manage applications and accounts, meet legal and financial obligations, resolve disputes and protect the service. Information that is no longer required is deleted or de-identified where reasonably practicable.
7. Access, correction and complaints
You may ask to access personal information we hold about you or request correction if it is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. You may also ask us to delete or de-identify information where appropriate. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and some information may need to be retained where permitted or required by law.
To make a request or privacy complaint, email hello@platemint.app with enough information for us to understand the issue. We will consider the request, may ask for further details and will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may have the right to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or another applicable regulator.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when PLATEMINT, our practices or applicable requirements change. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised date. Where appropriate, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
